The company Caminito.Cz® has been founded in the year 2000 by Marek Stefan and Katerina Malisova who were the first in the Czech Republic giving the tango classes to public. The beginnings were (as it could be expected) quite tough. In the first year the classes were not delivered as a course but as a single lessons and the number of participants was varying between 2 and 20. After each lesson there was a kind of a small 90min milonga. The first real and regular milonga was opened by Martin Fischer in the year 2001 and had been held nearly 2 years.
From its inception, the Caminito.Cz has participated on the organization and production of several tango concerts (Hora Cero) and it was also the producer of the original tehatre spectacle Pasos de Tango, which was successfully staged in several Prague theatres in 2003-2005. In the year 2004 Radka Sulcova has begun to participate in Caminito.Cz's activities as the main organizator of the Entrelazados project (2004-2006). In October 2006 Caminito.Cz was a partner of the Tanghost project in Prague and also organized the workshop with its main star–Pablo Verón. We´ve been co-organizers of the tango section of the Annual Dancers Ball, organized by the dance Time magazine since 2007. In June 2007 we participated in the creation of Prague´s Tango Alchemie festival, of which we are a partner today. In autumn 2007 we invited Thierry l´Cocq & Alexia Lyndin. In 2008 we co-produced Tango Primavera (an event organized by TangoImperial.cz) and in September became the first to host a 12-member tango band from Buenos Aires in Czech Republic - the Orquesta Típica Ciudad Baigon. Probably the merriest tango event is the annual Xmas tango party - a tradition we started in December 2003.
