Tango is not: the rose in the mouth, "Some like it hot", abrupt movements, to dance your routine perfectly, to win a competition, to grip a jury or to approach some ideal (or perhaps better speaking idelized) model.
2. Can I attend the classes without partner?
You can. The partner is very welcome but necessary. Often single men as well as single women. More over, the couples interchange during the class to practise the new figures with others and to prevent getting into mistakes. For couples please note that to interchange partners is best way to learn leading and following in dancing.
Are you seeking for a partner for a course/workshop? Try our forum.
There are no rules, wear what makes you feel comfortable. The class is your free time. For women, please leave your long and straight skirts at home.
The shoes with a leather sole is best. Ladies, the high heal shoes help (at least 6cm).
5. Where can I buy a shoes for dancing?
Look into the links.
6. I know ballroom style of tango. Should I attend classes for beginners or advanced?
The ballroom tango you know from the dancing competitions is also called tango (and some even call it Argentine) but it is quite distinct from the original Argentine tango. The posture, the hold/embrace, the technique, and especially the character is very different. That is why the course for beginners might be helpfull.

7. What if I can't attend the classes regularly?
If you cannot attend the class on the day you registerred for, you can compensate for it in another course (either for the beginners or for the advanced). However, despite of the fact that the principles of tango are same, every teacher has slightly different approach.
8. How much time do one need to learn tango?
The course for beginners lasts nearly 3 months. To learn tango is a process. All depends on your personal motivation and diligence. Anyway, we will encourage you to go to the milongas as much as possible because that is the place you really learn.
9. Am not I too old for tango?
Never is too late. As long as you can walk, you can dance too.
10. How can I subscribe for the tango classes?
All info is in section classes and schedule.
We open the courses for beginners 3 times a year anouncing it in the news; you can receive the news by e-mail subscribing into our mailinglist.
An information whether a course is already full you can get by contacting us.
The word milonga has two meanings.
1. A dancery, a place where people dance tango (and vals, and milonga too). It is something like a club, cafe, or a disco but with a tango as the music to dance. It is a place where people meet and socialize.
2. A dance, very roughly speaking "a fast tango" with its characteristic cheerful and playful music and rythm.

See also Wikipedia. Caminito in Spanish means "a small path". Caminito is also the name of the little street in the port La Boca, Buenos Aires, where, as they say, the tango was born, where the immigrants started to draw from Europe have started to draw their first dance figures into the earthen streets and paths. Thirdly, it is also a famous tango (music: Juan de Dios Filiberto, lyrics: Gabino Coria Peñaloza). |
